A small heaven on Earth
Being less than an hour away from Athens, Agistri island is one of the popular Greek islands for weekend getaways from the country’s capital. Agistri Greece belongs to the Saronic group of islands, along with Poros, Aegina, Spetses, and Hydra. Its relatively close distance to these islands makes it a perfect base for island hopping between the Saronic islands. It is known for its crystal beaches, the small villages, and green nature, and it is frequently visited as a relaxing destination.
The island has some fabulous beaches. Pine trees come almost to the shore and waters are crystal clear. Skala is the perfect place to find organized sandy beaches and small taverns as well.
Skala: This sandy beach with shallow waters is very well organized. Located just 100 meters from the port, there are some excellent fish restaurants in the area.
Megalohori (also known as Mylos): Is a fine beach with azure waters, with a mixture of pebbles and sand. Megalohori is ideal for swimming near the island’s capital town.
Dragonera: Is a marvelous pebble beach, just outside Megalohori and it is made up of two different organizes beaches, Mikri and Megali Dragonera, both with lush vegetation. Both of them are perfect for water sports.
Mareza: Is a heavenly, rocky beach with deep and clear waters, quite close to Limenaria.
Skliri and Halikiada: Near the harbor of Skala, Skliri is a small-but-stunning rocky beach. Halikiada, with white pebbles, is ideal for fishing.
Aponisos: Its magical turquoise waters will impress you and you will feel like you are in a natural pool.
